Welcome to Morgan's Madness.

The mind is a fascinating element of the human experience.  The idea of processing millions of commands in a blink of an eye is not only powerful, but is also incomprehensible.  Ironic, is it not?

“A look into the mind of a mad man” is an attempt to document the mind in action; to try and capture brief moments of clarity clouded by endless hours of random thoughts of nothingness.  If you blink, you just might miss it.

I was recently asked to define myself with a single word.  Within seconds I blurted out "insane".  Shocked by my response, the inquiring individual took several steps back then asked with a nervous chuckle, "What makes you insane?"  I simply smiled, tilted my head slightly, and said "You.  Him.  Her.  Everyone!"

I am anything but normal, according to the standards set by society.  In fact, if some people were to know just how deep and dark my madness truly was, they would probably institutionalize me.  But no worries, I’ve mastered the art of mental illusion.  I give the people what they want.  I give them what they think they need in order to feel safe.  What it actually breaks down to is a false sense of security.

I’m not a dangerous person in the physical sense.  My madness is limited to the psychological aspect of the human behavior.  I serve up mental images that most people would never imagine.

For instance:  When you ask someone to put into words a sunset, their description may be one of beauty and awesomeness.  My depiction would be:

“… an army of the dead waiting for the last bit of sunlight to dissipate so they could ravish the unsuspecting town that lies just beyond the iron gates of their kingdom.  The shadows of the night grow longer as the sun dips methodically behind the distant trees that frame the horizon.  The air cools to a thin layer of silk allowing for the dead to move quickly through the night as they feed upon the souls of their victims.” – Morgan 2009

A simple sunset, although beautiful in a typical definition, can also be quite boring and mundane.  Add to it the imagery of a mad man and what you get is the reality of insanity.

Welcome to my world!
